Safety standards for wheelchair locking systems are not as strict as for other vehicle components. Locking systems, according to ISO standards, are only required to secure wheelchairs including passenger weight up to 85kg. At Trapmann we do not consider this sufficient and want to ensure maximum safety for the wheelchair passenger in a vehicle we adapt. 

This is why we offer the DAHL LOCK docking station. This is the first system tested and approved in a large number of vehicles for electric wheelchairs with a total weight of +200kg. It thus meets the strict EUM1 safety standards.

A lock plate and spacer is mounted on the floor under the wheelchair. A hook-in piece is placed under the wheelchair that fits into the lock plate. When the power wheelchair is maneuvered to the docking station, this hook-in piece snaps into the lock plate and the wheelchair is automatically secured. With the push of a button, the wheelchair can be released again.
